Ensure important elements of your design are well-positioned within the printable area of the mug. Avoid placing key graphics or text too close to the edges to prevent them from being cut off or distorted due to the mug's curvature.

FAQs

What are ceramic mugs?

Ceramic mugs are drinkware made from clay, fired at high temperatures for durability. Glazed for a smooth finish, they retain heat well, making them ideal for hot beverages. Ceramic mugs are popular for everyday use at home, in cafes, or at the office, bringing an inviting charm to coffee or tea time.

How are ceramic mugs printed?

Our mugs are printed using a process called sublimation. The design is first printed onto a special transfer paper using sublimation ink, then placed on the mug and heated in a press. The heat causes the ink fuse directly onto the mug's surface, creating a vibrant, durable design that won’t peel or fade.

What size are ceramic mugs?

Our ceramic mugs are standard 11oz coffee cups, holding 300ml of liquid. They are 95mm tall, 81mm wide, and feature a handle that is 14mm thick and 75mm high.

What colour options can I choose from?

Our mugs come in a range of colour combinations, with inner and handle options available in Black, Blue (Pantone 186C), Gold (Pantone 6006C), Green (Pantone 367C), Pink (Pantone 190C), Red (Pantone 186C), Silver (Pantone Cool Gray 7 C), and White.

Are ceramic mugs dishwasher safe?

Our mugs are generally dishwasher and microwave safe, with the exception of our gold and silver mugs. Due to their metallic coating, these mugs should be hand-washed only and are not suitable for microwave use.

What is the turnaround time?

The turnaround time for personalised mug printing depends on your chosen product specification and finishing options. For faster delivery, we offer express production upgrades at an additional cost. To ensure your order is delivered on time, it is important we receive your artwork by the cut-off time indicated on both the product page and basket.

Please note: If your file is submitted after the cut-off time or if corrected artwork isn't provided before the next cut-off time following rejection, it will delay delivery by one working day.

How much is delivery?

We offer free standard delivery, with optional upgrades available for expedited service, including pre-10:30 AM and pre-12:00 PM for an additional cost.

How do I upload my artwork?

Uploading personalised mugs artwork is a breeze. After placing your order, click the upload button on the confirmation page. You can also upload your artwork through the Orders tab of "My Account".

How are orders packaged and shipped?

All orders will be packaged and shipped in boxes as standard. For larger orders, boxes may be secured and shipped on pallets; you’ll be notified at checkout if this applies. If your delivery address is inaccessible to a tail lift truck, please contact us to discuss alternative delivery arrangements.

Design guidelines

Templates

To make artwork setup simple, we recommend downloading the relevant product template from our templates section. Don’t forget to delete the template layer before exporting your design to PDF.

Colour

For best printing results, ensure your artwork and images are CMYK. If you use RGB, Pantone or spot colours in any element of your artwork, we will automatically convert them to CMYK which may change your colour profile.

Fonts

To eliminate any font issues, make sure all fonts are ‘embedded’ or ‘converted to outlines’ before creating your PDF print file. To ensure legibility, we recommend using a minimum font size of 10pt.

Image resolution

For optimal image print quality, ensure all images are 300dpi to 450dpi. Anything lower than 300dpi will give poor image quality. Images higher than 450dpi will result in high file sizes and may cause longer upload times.

Crop marks and bleed

To avoid alignment issues during cutting, be sure to include ‘crop marks’ (offset 10mm) and ‘document bleed’ when exporting your artwork file to PDF. Refer to our product templates for the required bleed specifications.

File format

To meet our print requirements, ensure your file is exported in Adobe PDF (Print) format, ideally as PDF/X-1a: 2001.
